Week 5 / Zine & New Assignment

Wonderful progress on the Zine project. I truly appreciate that you're taking the assignment very seriously. I am learning so much from reading your essay. Once we complete the project, we can definitely exchange zines with your class mates, and collect them.  And, we are all excited to start zthe new assignment!

Below are some questions about the zine project and the new assignment. Please let me know if you have any questions. You can send me email or use the comment section below.

Question:

I am not done with the Zine project, and wondering if I could email you progress on my zine.

Answer:

Yes. In fact, we’ll be working on all the assignments till the end of the semester, and you can always bring updates to the class. You can also email it to me at anytime.

Question:

For the liquid assignment, I am doing beer. I was wondering, if we are supposed to pick a company and redesign their logo and then pick a beer they make. Or are we supposed to pick a random beer that we find and redesign the label on the bottle and not redesign the companies logo?

Answer:

You should research beers (and perhaps brewery) in general and pick the one that you like. Don’t limit yourself to a major beers in the US, like Bud Light. Explore beers in the world, like minor craft beer from Pennsylvania. You may also research about the cultures around beer making and drinking.

Then You can either pick a single beer and redesign its label or pick a brewery and redesign one of their product. In either case, you need to redesign the product logo. If the company (Brewery) has a logo, you may use it as is or redesign it as well.
